PIZZA HUT: PERSONAL PAN PIZZA HUT | SOCIAL + CREATIVE STRATEGY
Solo dining has been sweeping the nation, often being labeled as self-care in its own right, flipping the stigma that eating alone is for loners. However, Pizza Hut’s famous Personal Pan Pizza wasn’t top of mind for these solo diners. So we created the world’s first solo restaurant, the Personal Pan Pizza Hut: A miniature Pizza Hut designed just for one, exclusively serving our personal pan pizza. The two day pop-up in New York City offered guests the personal escape they were looking for, along with the decor, design, and personal touches that Pizza Hut guests have loved for decades.
With seating for just one person, the entire space was designed to cater to individual tastes and preferences. From the moment participants walk in, they became the star of their own Personal [Pan] journey. They were able to choose from Pizza Hut’s classic range of personal pan pizzas or customize their own, selecting from a variety of toppings, cheeses, and sauces. Every pizza was made to order—ensuring the perfect experience for everyone.
Though the popup was only for two days and we sold the max number of 250 pizzas, this activation carried a ton of weight. The traditional press and TV broadcasts loved the stunt. It even made coveted appearances on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show with Steven Colbert. In total it reached over 2 Billion Earned Impressions and 934 Earned Media Placements.
